Make a difference through giving
By 2030, we’re aiming to equip 250,000 engineers with the skills and mindsets needed to deliver sustainable and equitable solutions. We’re already making strong progress: the Engineering for People Design Challenge reaches more than 13,000 students annually, and our virtual learning experience has engaged 15,000 learners to date. In total, our programmes enable over 1 million hours of experiential learning each year.
However, to achieve this ambitious target, we rely on the generosity of partners, donors and volunteers to sustain and grow our programmes, whilst ensuring they remain open and accessible to learners worldwide.
This Giving Tuesday (2 December 2025), we’re inviting individuals and organisations to help embed global responsibility at the heart of engineering by giving in a way that suits you – whether that’s time, expertise, or financial support.

Many companies already set aside funding for charitable giving, match employee donations, or choose charities to support in the year ahead – often sparked by a single conversation. We recently launched the Global Responsibility Portrait – a self-assessment tool based on our Competency Compass. It helps you spot strengths, uncover blind spots, and build the skills to create sustainable, equitable outcomes. Explore your Portrait and reflect on ways to strengthen your practice. Volunteer your expertise
You can make a meaningful contribution by volunteering your expertise to review student projects submitted through our design challenges. Volunteer reviewers play a crucial role by offering constructive feedback that helps emerging engineers think beyond technical outputs and consider social and environmental impact.
