Are you a member of Engineers Without Borders UK? Do you want to help shape the future and influence the engineering sector to be more globally responsible? If your answer is yes, why not spend some time contributing to a review of the Engineering Council’s revised Sustainability Guidance.
The Sustainability Guidance sets out six principles to support professional engineers and technicians in making decisions for clients, employers and society that consider sustainability.
It was first published in 2009 and is currently being reviewed by a small working group organised by the Engineering Council, of which Engineers Without Borders UK is an invited member. A revised version has been drafted with the aim to increase the sense of urgency, and encourage engineering professionals to be proactive, take a lead and challenge.
The consultation is seeking feedback on the revised guidance from across engineering, including the professional engineering institutions (PEIs), and we have been invited to submit a response.
This is your opportunity to help us shape our response and influence improvements in how sustainability is embedded into engineering practice. To provide your reflections on the proposed changes, take the short survey below (estimated completion time of 20-30 minutes).
Please note the deadline to respond is 23 August 2020.
It is important to note, individual responses will be non-attributable; the collated responses will be attributed to Engineers Without Borders UK.
If you are interested in contributing to this opportunity but are not yet a member of Engineers Without Borders UK, learn more about the opportunity to join our growing community and add your voice to a movement that is striving to serve all people and the planet better than ever before.
