Let’s move things forward – improving engineering practice
We’ve teamed up with the Royal Academy of Engineering and UCL to understand whether and how global responsibility impacts on decisions in the engineering profession and we’re looking for people to get involved in this study. Interested? Read on to find out more.
Human activity is now happening at such a scale that we are a significant deciding factor in the future of the planet. Changing the composition of the atmosphere, reshaping landscapes, changing people’s daily activities; much of our ability to effect change on the environment and people around us is due to our ability to engineer. But how well are engineers able to factor social and environmental impact into their decision making and are there opportunities to do this better in the future?
For this exploratory piece of research, we are focusing on interviewing those working in the built environment. Is this you and do you have an hour available to be interviewed in London before 22 February 2019?
The interview can be conducted at your place of work or at UCL (Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT) and your input will remain confidential and anonymised in the final outputs of the study, please read this participant information sheet for more information. Reasonable travel expenses can also be covered.
This piece of research has the opportunity to shape and define our profession in the years to come so please get in contact to find out more, arrange an interview and get involved.
