We’re looking for a passionate, proactive and insightful project/programme management professional to join our team and lead the delivery of our award-winning engineering education programmes.

Engineers Without Borders UK is at an exciting time. Our award-winning inter-university design competition – the Engineering for People Design Challenge – continues to grow in our established geography of the UK and Ireland. It is now embedded into first or second year curriculum at 30 universities, delivering this project-based learning programme to 6,500 students annually. We are working with Engineers Without Borders South Africa and Engineers Without Borders USA to bring the programme to students in their countries for the first time from September 2019. We are also supporting the creation of a new programme; the Efficiency for Access Design Challenge in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust and funded by the Department for International Development (DfID). We’re now looking for a new team member to manage the successful delivery of these two programmes. If this is you, apply to become our new Engineering Programme Manager

As our Engineering Programme Manager, you have the exciting responsibility for driving forward our education programmes.  In your first year with us: you will support our community of academics; develop, manage and deliver high quality learning materials; drive increased impact and longer term sustainability; celebrate the success of our programmes; deliver value for money and ensure we meet our commitments; and ensure that the programmes are integrated within our movement.  Over time, and as the organisation grows, there is the opportunity to become increasingly strategic and take on greater responsibility for further developing a wider portfolio of programmes.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for engineering  because of the difference it makes to people’s lives. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in managing projects/programmes, capable of improving processes/systems with excellent relationship and communications skills, and a degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related subject.

Our growing movement is now in a position to be directed towards collective action and key to achieving this is the provision of relevant opportunities for our community to learn about global responsibility in engineering and how to practice it. As our Engineering Programme Manager your role is key to achieving this and in the longer term driving this forward. We’re excited to have you on board.
