We are a group of engineers at the University of Manchester who are a part of the wider Engineers Without Borders movement. The aims of EWB University of Manchester are to organise projects, events, talks and research for members and to work with other Member Groups to advertise and subsidise trips including residential events and training events across the country.

Every Wednesday afternoon we run our wind turbine workshop where a group of us are working on creating our own Hugh Piggott turbine. There are teams working on creating the blades, the generator and the stand.
We also have weekly outreach workshops where we go into local schools and talk about engineering and how it can help humans get access to the resources they need. For these events we provide training and all the materials you will need to go into a school.
As well as these weekly events we have speaker events throughout the year, and these are going to be announced at the start of the new year.
We also have mapathon events once a semester. This is where we all get together with our laptops and create some maps for the unmapped parts of the world. These maps may then be used to aid humanitarian relief. We also provide pizza!
