Engineers Without Borders UK is pleased to announce that we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with STEM Learning to become a recognised scheme partner of the STEM Ambassadors Programme. STEM Learning is the largest provider of STEM education and careers support to schools, colleges and other groups working with young people across the UK.

Engineers Without Borders UK believes in the importance of encouraging young people to understand the role that responsible engineering can play in sustainable human development around the world. This is in alignment with STEM Learning, who believe in raising young people’s engagement and achievement in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM); increasing the numbers of young people progressing in STEM studies and into STEM-related careers post-16.

Through our workshops, ‘Power for Everyone Everywhere’ and ‘Water for Everyone Everywhere’, Engineers Without Borders Ambassadors encourage students to think about access to water and energy around the world through an interactive task. Likewise, through STEM Learning, STEM Ambassadors use their enthusiasm and commitment to open the doors to a world of opportunities and possibilities, which come from pursuing STEM subjects and careers by inspiring young people to enjoy STEM subjects.

We currently have over 400 committed Engineers Without Borders Ambassadors who are part of the national STEM Ambassador Programme. Our Ambassadors are helping to deliver workshops to primary and secondary students through the STEM Ambassadors Programme throughout the UK.

Engineers Without Borders UK provides the resources and training for our Ambassadors to deliver our hands on and interactive workshops in the classroom and STEM Learning has  over 38,000 resources in their library and on their website, which our Ambassadors who are also STEM Ambassadors can take advantage of to support how we deliver our workshops.

We’re really excited about this new stage in our relationship with STEM Learning and look forward to supporting Engineers Without Borders Ambassadors to raise awareness about the role that engineering has in sustainable human development.

If you would like to become an Ambassador for Engineers Without Borders, please register as a STEM Ambassador.
