EWB READING REGIONAL NETWORK

ABOUT US:

The EWB Reading Professional Network is a great way to be involved with the work of Engineers Without Borders UK if you’re based in the Reading area and no longer in full time education.  Together we can work towards a world where everyone has access to the engineering they need for a life free from poverty.

Engineering can be defined as ‘the action of working artfully to bring something about’. Bearing this in mind, our goal is to use engineering to bring the change to the world, and that’s how we came up with the idea of ‘Changineering’. Because it doesn’t matter whether you are an engineer or not; everybody can be a ‘changineer’ working artfully to make a difference.

Our Professional Network is therefore the right place to meet like minded people and share ideas, at the time you will be able to gain awareness of global problems and learn how to be part of the solution with your example. We believe that education is essential to reach our objectives, and the wider the knowledge the higher the impact.

To that end, we organise events in Reading so as to bring together all the people interested in making a difference. We have a wide range of topic-based events in our calendar to fit everybody, such as talks, lectures, group discussions, workshops, etc., and also social events focused on building effective relationships and growing our personal networks.
