Come and learn about the structural properties and development potential for bamboo as an appropriate material!

Participants will learn about bamboo and its uses and then spend a practical, hands-on afternoon making a bamboo roof truss.

The EWB-UK/RedR Cambridge Group training course at Clare Farm, which has been running for a number of year, has always been an exciting and inspiring event. The course consists of practical exercises, focussing on both development and disaster relief work.

The course is led by professionals who have experience of working abroad using practically-based and refreshing ways of teaching.

Interested in disaster relief and development?

Want to spend a weekend learning about shelter from experts in the field?

This course aims to provide an introduction to shelter, from international planning through to project implementation and the associated practical technical skills.

With a mix of theory and hands-on workshops covering shelter in emergencies, the transition from relief to development, and reconstruction and mitigation, this course will educate and inspire.

Important Notes: 

This course is aimed at students of all disciplines, it's not just for engineers!
