Placements Team

The Placements Programme is our most direct contribution to the relief of poverty around the world.

You can apply to join the Placements Team. You can also register your interest in being a Placement Manager or Reviewer. EWB-UK is running 34 placements with 20 partners in 14 countries this year.

 

Publicity Team

EWB-UK is trying to catalyse a wider movement in the engineering community and in society in general towards international development - and successful media coverage is key to spreading the word. EWB-UK's publicity currently encompasses public events, journals, trade magazines, student, local and national newspapers and radio.

You can apply to join the Publicity Team and you might also be interested in becoming the Communications Co-ordinator.

Education Team

EWB-UK's Education Programme is a great way to get involved in influencing your own university to make a difference to the course material it delivers. With loads of things planned for this year it is essential that we get an enthusiastic, committed and passionate team together. Could you be part of this formative year for the Education Programme?

Bursaries Team

The bursary scheme provides funding for EWB-UK members to set up learning opportunities, research projects or volunteer placements which contribute to their personal development and benefit partner development organisations.

You can apply to become the Bursaries Manager and/or join the Bursaries Team.

The EWB-UK Volunteer Recruitment Process

This is meant to provide a clarification of the volunteer recruitment process for EWB-UK. (N.B. the only exception to this system is the Professional Network that do as they wish)

Alongside our Placements Programme, the EWB-UK Research Programme is one of our most direct contributions to alleviating poverty across the globe by creating greater links between academic institutions and partner organisations working in the development sector through research projects.

  • Liaise with existing and potential corporate and grant donors to secure funds for EWB-UK’s activities.
  • Work with EWB-UK’s university societies and members to help them raise funds through band nights, sponsored events and other initiatives.

Current Branch Proposals - Water Filtration Project

We are currently working on a water filtration project to hopefully use in the developing world. We are currently focussing on Nigeria, Bangladesh or Peru.

Research & Professionals

EWB-UK is working in collaboration with universities bringing current, development engineering based, problems into the UK so that a larger period of time may be spent on the research and design of new innovation and production of solutions which benefit the developing world.
