This day-long workshop will look at stoves and their social implications. Throughout the day participants will learn about the technology behind stoves and their uses, along with ways to adapt them to make them more efficient and less of a danger to health.
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have discussed the role of the foreign engineer

- Appreciate the complexities of achieving successful stove installation
- Understand the fundamentals of stove design
- Appreciate the importance of cultural and environmental requirements in stove design
- Have built and tested a series of stoves and measured their efficiency
- Learn how to assess the wider impact of a stove projects and why retrospective assessment is important
