Placements Coordinator

The Placements Coordinator leads the EWB-UK placements team of student and professional volunteers, in the most high profile of the charity's activities. This currently involves over 35 students and young graduates taking part in voluntary placements of 2-12 months duration in the UK and abroad.

Role Summary

  • You will have responsibility for steering the direction of a large volunteer team, prioritising areas for improving practices, or expanding operations.
  • You will line-manage a paid administrator, on secondment for 3 days per week from the international development charity, RedR.
  • As a member of the EWB-UK National Executive, the coordinator reports directly to the EWB-UK CEO, and their work is overseen by a member of the EWB-UK Board of Trustees.

Requirements

  • You should have experience of leading and motivating a team of volunteers.
  • You should have excellent organisation skill
  • You should be genuinely interested in international development and the work and aims of EWB-UK.
  • Experience of overseas placements is considered highly beneficial, although not essential
  • The role is anticipated to require a commitment of around 10 hours per week

You will receive internal training from the previous holders of the position and ongoing guidance and support from the EWB-UK CEO and a Trustee of the charity. You will receive training on volunteer management skills.
