What will I be doing?

There are two possible projects, depending upon the requirements of the NGO at the time of the volunteers’ arrival:

Project 1:  Assisting in the design/construction of built infrastructure (e.g. schools), involving community members in the construction phases of the projects.

Project 2:  Assisting in the design/construction of a number of clean water supply projects in isolated rural communities.

In both projects, typical activities may include site surveying, designing, material procurement, construction supervision, and training community members in construction techniques.  Experienced engineers from PRODECI and skilled labourers will be on-hand to support you at any time.

In both projects, significant time will be spent in the communities assessing project requirements, supervising construction, and interacting with community members.  Time may be spent staying in the rural communities during key phases of construction.

Who will I be working for?

PRODECI’s 2009 predicted turnover is in the region of $900,000. You will assist the engineers in PRODECI’s small infrastructure team, where you will assist in the realisation of a variety of projects, with the aim of improving infrastructure, and consequently quality of life in the communities where you work.
