MENTORS REQUIRED Can you help and support a group of students in their research? 4 new research projects are starting up at Sheffield University: Rain Water Harvesting, Natural Water Heating(instead of treadle pump system),Waste Management and Design of a clay mixer.
If you think you could offer your time to support and mentor these student please contact alexis.glazer@ewb-uk.org.
This usually involves helping the group through all stages of the
project, from it's conception, through the placement and research and
offering any advise in the final stages of the project.

THE BRITISH RED CROSS LECTURE
Inside Story: Red Cross - behind the scenes of crisis
The British Red Cross Lecture is a unique opportunity to hear first hand what life is really like for Red Cross personnel working in conflict and disaster zones.
The lecture will be given by two excellent guest speakers Sir Nick Young (The British Red Cross CEO) and Roland Huguenin-Benjamin, a former delegate with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who worked in some of the most dangerous conflict zones in the world, including Iraq, Israel and Palestine.

Yeang's vision is to enable buildings to run as complete ecosystems with little external energy supply. ACTED 6 MONTH OPPORTUNITIES IN MYANMAR AND KYRGYZSTAN EWB-UK graduates Ian Ball (Myanmar) and Stephen Jones (Kyrgyzstan) were previously working for ACTED in these departments, so interested applicants are encouraged to contact Ian (ianstuartball@googlemail.com) or Stephen (stephenjones27@googlemail.com) to find out more about the opportunity they are interested in.

are looking for a chartered or near charted civil/structural engineer
to work in the very remote Aweil East County of Southern Sudan. The
volunteer will manage the contractor of two Primary Health Care Units
and ensure that all parties fulfil their responsibilities. You will be
responsible for site planning with the community, daily site
supervision and for giving advise to the Tearfund Senior Management
Team in regards to contractual completion and technical aspects, as
such experience in construction management is a requisite. For more
