This Friday, 13th June 2008, Durham University will be holding its first International Development Course from 9.30am-5.30pm in the Chemistry Department on the Science Site of the Durham Campus.
This event is designed as a one day course to educate people interested in partaking in international development projects and interventions and we invite guest speakers to come and distil the crucial issues that people should be aware of to be a global citizen.  The day will comprise of talks, workshops and group debates and confirmed speakers so far include:
  • Professor Jonathan Rigg (Geography)
  • Mark Buttle (ARUP, Oxfam, Concern Worldwide and RedR)
  • Professor Tony Cleaver (Economics)
  • Professor Marcus Power (Geography)
  • Stephanie Brown (UNHCR)

Tickets will be on sale from the DUCK office or online from Monday at the price of £3, including a buffet lunch and drinks and snacks throughout the day.
