EWB-UK has sucessfully been running a 12 month placement with SIBAT, a Filipino non-governmental organisation (NGO) developing and installing Community-Based Renewable Energy Systems (CBRES). The project includes working with micro-hydro systems, solar PV water pumps and wind turbines - you can read about this years project in our placements programme.

A small community wind turbine for water pumping has been installed by SIBAT in the Philippines and volunteers from EWB-UK. The unit was installed in the remote Sitio Buli on Cabra Island. The turbine is based upon the design by Hugh Piggott. See the video below.
