Sewerage and Sanitation
A major international development NGO, Practical Action, is interested in low cost sewerage, in-site sanitation, sludge emptying and treatment. They are also interested in sanitation in high water table areas, problem soils, moving population and rocky soils. They are also interested in monitoring and impact assessment methodologies of water, sanitation and hygiene programmes. Another emerging area of work, is the link between relief and development in water, sanitation and hygiene. We are looking for sanitation solutions in Gedarif, Sudan where low cost options on problem soil can benefit at-least 80,000 people. We are also interested in understanding more about actual use and scaling up of eco-sanitation systems. Focus countries – Sudan, Kenya, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Due to a lack of resources, Practical Action are able to consider only postgraduates and final year students.
