1. Scotland / Publicity -
   - PN stuff - Official launches in Glasgow & Edinburgh. low turnout, but enthusiastic. Students spoke, Paul Steen (Ramboll Whitby Bird) spoke, photo exhibition. - Next event next Tuesday. Joint EWB / RedR, Richard McGowan (Mott Mac) speaking. Gonna rotate 1 month on / off, Edinburgh / Glasgow.
   - Branch stuff - official presentation to Glasgow branch 19th Feb. Students want PN to come along and get more involved. Appropriate tech, WATSAN. Trying to do same in Edinburgh.

   - Outreach stuff - Water for the World project is being developed by Adri Kerciku (ex-EWB Oxford and trustee) through Arup. Go into schools and teach kids about water

   - Training stuff -Courses been happening recently: Field Communications - Cambridge, Shelter - Cambridge, Shelter - Cardiff, IDC - Cardiff, CAT course - Wales, SW water course - Bristol, Wind Turbine course.
   An NGO called RESET (guy called Magnus) got in touch with EWB Edinburgh wanting to act as a training consultant, accredited to institutions, see attachment - initially train for free. Thought of sending out questionnaire - NE see them as acting as external consultant, very expensive, filling role of employee (coming soon) and innapropriate in some other ways too.
   Problem with training advertisements coming last minute. Sachi needs to advertise earlier. Don't forget about us. If danger of too many PN, limit to 5.
   ICE sent out training advert in their MyICE newsletter (to 40,000 members). Got a good response.

   - PN stuff - Very closely tied to university and RedR. Approx. 50 members. How to reach other companies? Easy at Mott? Suggestion of using local institution lists

   - Fundraising stuff - Fundraising have been approaching lots of engineering firms. Very useful to have some PN contacts within the company to act as liaison.

9. Brighton / Research -
   - PN stuff - Nothing happening
   - Branch stuff - Carried out 2 placements launches and sussex uni (started Oct 2005, fizzled out after 2nd year) and brighton uni (now have 7 people who want to start a branch). Lara wants to speak to someone who can give advice on how to start a branch. Want to do something tomorrow (14 Mar). Launch of research in Apr / May.
   - Research stuff - Lara, Brighton uni - bicycle machine project; external assessor for project. Not an EWB-UK project. Apparently put off by the word 'engineering'.

AOB 1: Hand over for next year - Robert maybe going to Madrid. Applications for all National positions Apr - Jun 2008. Consider applying for PN coordinator or other roles

AOB 2: Website - Regional pages - Bulletins in archive - Would be great to have a page for each PN region. Also would be good to archive all PN bulletins. Either Robert creates a walk through document of talks people through how to do this. Lack of people in meeting and lack of time meant that the latter will have to be done individually.

ACTION: All, please call Robert to get a run through of how to make new pages on the website (including archiving emails).

AOB 3: Institution links - ICE, IStructE, IMechE, IET, IChemE - We can get a lot from relationships with the institutions (and hopefully vice versa). Initially it would be great to start using their email lists to advertise some of our events. Need contacts.
