Engineers Without Borders UK - Professional Network: North Region |
|
Welcome to the North! Hello, My name is Paul Cosgrove and I am the EWB-UK Regional Professional Network Co-ordinator for the North region. I have been involved with EWB-UK and the Sheffield branch since 2005 and I currently live and work in Sheffield.
So why am I writing to you…? In addition, to manage growth of the Professional Network (PN) at a local level, each of the 16 EWB-UK University Branches have been grouped into five regions and a regional PN co-ordinators appointed to each one. ‘The North’ is one of these five regions and currently consists of Sheffield, Manchester and Durham EWB-UK branches. And that’s where I come in as a volunteer regional PN co-ordinator. And so, if you have received this email it’s because you selected to be affiliated with either of these branches when you originally registered as PN member.
What is my role…?
Including yourselves, there are a large number of individuals, organisations and companies out there who may be interested in supporting and benefiting from EWB-UK via the Professional Network – the challenge however is to raise awareness, highlight, explore and promote the opportunities associated with the PN and thus engage members in an effective and satisfying way.
What can you do…? On a regional level, please feel free to email me at paul.cosgrove@ewb-uk.org with any questions, suggestions or ideas relating to the Professional Network and EWB-UK – how it works, how you can get more involved, what the rewards are, how we could better involve and grow the Northern PN membership. Also if you come across any events which your PN colleagues may be interested in, please let me know and I will pass the info on. Dependent upon people’s level of interest and availability I am keen to organise an informal Regional EWB-UK PN Evening later in the year. This would be a great opportunity for people to meet up, learn about some interesting PN member experiences, get to know each other and discuss people’s key questions and suggestions… For general guidance on involvement with EWB-UK on a national or local level please use the following link: http://www.ewb-uk.org/ProfessionalNetwork_brochure Note, that I will only be using this email distribution list for distribution of North Region specific info - so you will still continue to receive emails from Robert at a national level. Well, thank you for taking the time to read this email and I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers
Paul Cosgrove
