Knowledge
This section of our site draws together some of the knowledge learnt within EWB-UK’s vast range of activities. Training course material and technical reports from our placements and research projects are published in order to act as a learning resource for anyone currently carrying out projects in the field or from a laboratory in their own country. Project case studies also draw on some lessons learnt by EWB-UK on how to carry out a successful project and the more social aspects that are equally important when working with communities in development.
This knowledge has been divided into our EWB-UK’s 6 Communities of Practice. These communities’ best represent the areas that EWB-UK is currently involved in:
Information and Communications Technology is a powerful tool to aid human development by giving people the access to information and the ability to communicate.
Transport is supported by infrastructure, and is often essential in allowing people to have access to education, health care facilities as well as jobs or vital resources to live every day lives.
Access to clean water and sanitation is a widespread issue in development, appropriate technology and innovative design can help to tackle this problem.
