Publicity Team
EWB-UK is trying to catalyse a wider movement in the engineering community and in society in general towards international development - and successful media coverage is key to spreading the word. EWB-UK's publicity currently encompasses public events, journals, trade magazines, student, local and national newspapers and radio.
You can apply to join the Publicity Team and you might also be interested in becoming the Communications Co-ordinator.
Some of the exciting publicity activities that you could be undertaking include:
- Photography Competition & Exhibitions: You would help to organise and manage EWB-UK’s photography competition and exhibitions. A selection of photographs from our volunteers overseas will be selected through a competition, in order to be shown in exhibitions at the university branches, as well as venues across the country to highlight EWB-UK’s work
- Newspapers, magazines and journals: We often have approaches for stories about our organisation and our work in the UK and overseas. You will help to oversee and manage the liaison with these relevant publications to ensure some excellent material is published
- Video stories: As EWB-UK moves more into using videos to allow people to understand our work, you may be able to use video in publicising our work on external websites and through partner organisations
The team as a whole is responsible for EWB-UK raising awareness about its activities to ensure that all the programmes of EWB-UK receive the attention they need and deserve. Team members may undertake a variety of roles throughout the year, some examples of which are given below.
