Education Team
EWB-UK's Education Programme is a great way to get involved in influencing your own university to make a difference to the course material it delivers. With loads of things planned for this year it is essential that we get an enthusiastic, committed and passionate team together. Could you be part of this formative year for the Education Programme?

Some of the exciting activities that you can get involved in with the Engineers Without Borders UK Education Programme include:
- Royal Academy of Engineering: managing EWB-UK's growing relationship with the Royal Academy of Engineer's Education Programme - including the development and delivery of some exciting education workshops, management of funding and contracting of academics as teachers.
- EWB Spain: managing EWB-UK's work with Engineers Without Borders Spain (particularly the Barcelona office) on education materials. Also includes some work with EWB France.
- Library: buying interesting books for EWB-UK's library in its office in Cambridge, and making them available to our members around the country via our website.
- "TECL" study: depending on the outcome of a feasibility study taking place this summer, this role will involve looking at how EWB-UK might facilitate engineering teaching opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Summer School: developing a collaboration with one of our partner organisations to offer an annual summer school in India for EWB-UK members.
The Education Programme is run by a team of volunteers at university branches. Team members support the programme with activities at their own branch or in their local area, as well as getting involved in the projects given above. This can include:
- Assessing local barriers to getting development in the engineering curriculum
- Supporting academics who wish to set up such modules within their own universities
- Carrying out surveys to guage levels of interest and opinions of students and academics about international development
- And, importantly, developing your own new ideas for education!
Team members may undertake a variety of roles throughout the year. The average time commitment is about 1-2 hours per week on average.
