Branch Support Team

EWB-UK’s Branch Support team is a group of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Support and advise the student societies around the UK who are affiliated to EWB-UK.
  • Help the societies grow and expand, and organise both local activities and contribute to national programmes.
  • Provide a strong link between all these branches and encourage inter-branch collaboration and activity.

The team as a whole is responsible for EWB-UK supporting the branches as effectively as possible to ensure EWB-UK has a strong presence around the country and a large pool of committed and enthusiastic volunteers to run the charity’s activities. Team members will usually be ‘Regional Support Officers’ who work closely with branches in their geographical area. The average time commitment is about 1-2 hours per week on average but may be more on some occasions.

Examples of roles undertaken by Regional Support Officers include:

  • Attending local branch meetings to advise the societies and update them on the national activities of the charity.
  • Assist with sharing contacts and information in their area on things such as training venues, speakers and interested academics.
  • Organise regional meetings and social events for members of different branches to meet, share ideas and have fun.

We currently have Regional Support Officers in place for many of our UK regions but we are still always looking for people to help out and take over the positions in future so if you are interested please do still let us know.
