Training Team

The EWB-UK Training scheme is run by a team of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Organise national training courses for EWB-UK members and placement volunteers around the country on topics such as shelter, energy, water, disaster relief and an introduction to development and more.

Education Team

The EWB-UK Education scheme is run by a team of EWB-UK members around the country who work with university departments and other organisations to include more development-related material in undergraduate engineering courses. This can include:
  • Developing relevant course material that can be used in curriculum modules

Education Co-ordinator

Role description:
  • The Education Co-ordinator leads the EWB-UK Education Team of student and professional volunteers in working with university departments to include more international-development related topics in engineering courses
  • The Co-ordinator is a member of the EWB-UK National Executive and will report directly to the EWB-UK CEO

Fundraising Team

EWB-UK’s Fundraising team is a group of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Liaise with existing and potential corporate and grant donors to secure funds for EWB-UK’s activities.
  • Work with EWB-UK’s university societies and members to help them raise funds through band nights, sponsored events and other initiatives.

Fundraising Co-ordinator

Role description:
  • Team management - The Fundraising Co-ordinator leads the EWB-UK Fundraising Team of student and professional volunteers to carry out the organisation’s Fundraising Strategy.

Publicity & Media Team

EWB-UK’s Publicity and Media team is a group of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Ensure that EWB-UK has a strong and consistent image throughout the UK and overseas backed up by a striking range of promotional material that effectively imparts the key messages about us and our work.

Publicity & Media Co-ordinator

Role description:
  • The Publicity and Media Co-ordinator leads the EWB-UK Publicity and Media Team of student and professional volunteers to carry out the organisation’s Publicity and Media Strategy.

Bursaries Team

The EWB-UK Bursaries scheme is run by a team of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Market the scheme nationwide and encourage members to apply for the funding available for their own ideas for overseas volunteering or UK research projects.
  • Assess, discuss and choose the best people and project ideas.

Branch Support Team

EWB-UK’s Branch Support team is a group of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Support and advise the student societies around the UK who are affiliated to EWB-UK.
  • Help the societies grow and expand, and organise both local activities and contribute to national programmes.

Branch Support Co-ordinator

Role description:
  • The Branch Support Co-ordinator leads the EWB-UK Branch Support Team to support the work of all our university societies across the UK and enable them to grow, strengthen, attract new members and contribute fully to the activities of the charity.

Placements Team

National team members play a management role in the placements programme, each member responsible for overseeing up to 8-10 projects. They play a vital role in deploying resources (budget >£40k/annum) to maximise the positive impacts of our programme area. You will be supported by a paid administrator, on secondment from the international disaster relief organisation, RedR.

Placements Branch & Company Ambassador

A simple but important role, requiring little or no prior experience. You will become the eyes, ears and mouth of the placements team, being the point of contact for all communication with your local network.

Research Team

The EWB-UK Research scheme is run by a team of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Liaise with partner organisations abroad and university departments in the UK to develop research project briefs for undergraduate projects related to development.

Humanitarian Centre Placement

Expanding Management Capacity

One 10-month placement with the Humanitarian Centre, Cambridge.

Finance Co-ordinators (x2)

Role Description:
  • EWB-UK is a growing organisation. This has put a lot of strain on the financial systems that served us well in the past. It has therefore been decided that two Finance Co-ordinators will be required to make the necessary reforms and to keep on top of the rapidly increasing budgets.

IT Team

EWB-UK’s IT team is a group of EWB-UK members around the country who:
  • Maintain and develop the EWB-UK website and content management system.
  • Work with the other programmes and activities of EWB-UK to ensure that the organisation’s IT needs are met.
