Placements & Professionals

EWB-UK's highest profile activities are our overseas placement projects which are conducted by carefully selected interns in partnership with NGOs around the world. EWB-UK prides itself on ensuring that all projects carried out meet firm standards of quality in terms of the work carried out and the value of the project to both the placement students and the partner NGOs.

Who? - Is open to students and young professionals up to 4 years post graduation
When? - Applications (via website) open in February. The placements usually begin in June
Where & how long? - Placements vary in length from 3-12 months and can be overseas or UK based
How much? - EWB-UK will fund 2/3 the cost of overseas & 1/2 the cost of UK based placements

As a Professional Network Member:

Possible Roles

  • review placement project proposals
  • sit on interview panel for selection of placement volunteers
  • act as professional mentor for placement volunteer: before-during-after placements
  • research new placement opportunities & projects
  • provide professional advice via external Technical Support Services (TSS), e.g. RedR TSS

Opportunities
