Bursaries & Professionals
The EWB-UK Bursaries scheme provides funding for member-initiated non EWB-UK learning opportunities, research projects and volunteer placements which contribute to the personal development of our members and benefit partner development organisations. Since 2005, the bursary scheme has provided funding for 30 projects in 25 countries over £10,000. To enable this program the national EWB-UK bursaries team is responsible for:
- Advertising the bursaries program;
- Supervising the application process;
- Managing and distributing the funding;
- Collecting feedback;

As a professional network member:
Your Roles
- Screen project proposals;
- Sit on Bursaries Review Panel for final allocation of awards;
- Provide professional advice on specific project issues: technical, commercial & social;
- Help advertise the bursaries program to colleagues who are eligible;
- Provide links into the companies, NGOs and academic sectors;
- If you graduated less than 4 years previously, you can apply for bursaries for
- Personal training;
- Direct contribution to engineering development projects;
- Direct contribution to local development initiatives;
- Research
- Establish personal network within engineers, companies, NGOs, academic associations and engineering institutions in a local, national and international level;
- Networking within local student and professional community;
- Develop communication skills;
- Develop professional expertise
