How well do journalists and development workers collaborate on
development issues? Can media bias affect development efforts?
A FREE event with talks and discussions by leading professionals
in the field.
Simon Morrow (consultant surveyor) has experience in construction for
development and how the media reports on development issues.
 

Dr Linje Manyozo (London School of Economics) is interested in
questions of voice participation and authority in development policy
formulation and implementation. His student, Zeynep Colpan, will sit on the
discussion panel. She has just completed her MSc in Media,
Communications and Development at LSE. Her research focuses on the
debates of the social uses of ICTs and media in development contexts.
 

Magnus Franklin (The Guardian) is interested in the discrepancies
between local and western media culture and the role of NGOs in
development reporting. Finalist in the Guardian International Development
journalism competition.
 

Josh Macabuag (EWB-UK London Professional Network) has
participated in a variety of development efforts, with experience of media
influence through working with CNN on development projects.
