Ever wondered how to build compostable loos?

As part of the set up for Small Is .. Festival running on (31st August to the 2nd September) we are going to be build 10 compostable toilets to exemplify this appropriate technology.

We will be digging and installing the latrines and covering superstructures on the weekend of 9th August - 13th August 2012 (although Saturday - Sunday tickets are available).

Accommodation will be basic (camping) and we will build the latrines over the course of the weekend. Participants need to arrive by 7pm on the day of arrival when we will set up the tents and hold a briefing session for the course.

There are two ticket options available: the Short Weekend Ticket and Comprehensive Weekend Ticket.

The Short Weekend Ticket (10th - 12th August) introduces you to the basics of latrine building where you'll work within a team to construct a number of latrines while further developing your knowledge of this technology and its uses.

The Comprehensive Weekend Ticket (9th - 13th August) gives you deeper insight into the uses of this appropriate technology and applications in the field. It additionally equips you with the skills that are sufficiently advanced for you to be able to practice this individually.
