Branches in Scotland
please update
EWB Glasgow is a joint branch between Strathclyde University and Glasgow University. The branch was set up in early 2005 and has been very active since then:
- raising money at ceilidhs, band nights and other events
- organising trips
- hosting lectures and
- running training sessions
This year we have a very young and active committee, a branch project to build a wind turbine and a training day to organise for Easter.
Its good times for the EWB Strathclyde branch! Not only has our group grown greatly in the past year, we are also hosting the Scottish International Development Conference in February. For our technical project we are designing a portable lighting device for use in Ghana’s rural areas and have begun outreach in local schools just this month! Our wind turbine event in November was a great success receiving worldwide publicity through SgurrEnergy’s November 09 newsletter. We also offer training events, summer placements and have regular fundraising events.
