EWB Cambridge - Not Just For Engineers!

Despite our name, we are not an engineers-only society! While those doing research projects and most people on overseas placements with EWB-UK will generally need some level of technical expertise (where an engineering or similar background definitely helps), it is never a requirement to be studying engineering.
Our activities are for anyone interested in development, poverty alleviation and generally making the world a better place. Our talks, trips and training courses are pointedly practical and thankfully not full of maths - engineers get enough of that in their lectures! Participants at our training courses have included Law, Geography and HPS students, among others, and EWB-UK's own Training Programme Manager is a recent Modern Languages graduate.
In any case, the running of the branch, and of course our social and fundraising events, require no engineering expertise, and are also great fun! So if you're not an engineer and you're reading this, come along and try EWB!
