Title of placement:    Percussion drilling of water wells

 

 

 

Looking at improvement to precision drilling machines which will involve investigating how to improve drilling tools, Field test improved methods and assist setting up water well services

 

 

1.1 Review the results of the previous placement

1.2 Identify local materials that can be used for making drilling tools

1.3 Improve design of existing tools and supervise workshop in carrying out modifications

1.4 Supervise test drilling and measure performance

2.1 Identify suitable casing pipe for use below water level

2.2 Design and test drilling techniques based on this pipe

3.1 Adapt trailer to carry drilling rig

4.1 Arrange with partner to drill at least 1 well on-road and 1 well off-road. Monitor performance

5.1 Visit wells with rope pumps and check condition and performance

5.2 Assess design improvements needed. Install and test improved design on wells of 4.1 above

6.1 Work with partner to review all aspects of well installation process and produce an installation manual

6.2 Assist partner in preparing a business plan for a well-drilling enterprise
